Vision & Values
Vision
As a church we want to be:
Passionate about our love of God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit and wholehearted in our worship of Him.
Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.”
In our knowledge of Him, our friendship with Him, in obedience to Him and in becoming more like Him in every area of our lives.
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
To fulfill our God-given role in the life of the Church, through training, encouraging and developing our gifts from the Lord.
Ephesians 4:12 To equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
To worship together, encourage, support and care for each other, in an open and honest way.
Hebrews 10:25 Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
To express God’s love through living out and proclaiming the gospel and seeking to meet the needs of people.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Values
As a church we value:
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship.
- Caring for one another
- Fellowship with other believers
John 13:35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
Hebrews 10:25 Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Explaining and living out the gospel
1 Peter 3:15 Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
Luke 18:16 Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
John 15:4-5 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
1 Corinthians 12:12-14 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptised by one Spirit so as to form one body – whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. And so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
