Wexford Bible Church began in 1984 when Michael and Bernie Breen began meeting together with other locals for Bible Study and prayer.

The church first became established, in the town, under the pastoral direction of Miles McKee.Later Michael took on pastoral responsibility and then at the beginning of 2009 Jonathan Reid became the current pastor.

We are an evangelical, vibrant and caring church which meets in Wexford town. We are made up of families and individuals drawn from a diverse cross-section of both the town and surrounding countryside.

As a church we seek to be an agent of God's Kingdom by telling others of the forgiveness, grace and love which God offers through Jesus. We want to do this while serving and contributing to the local community. We also seek to be a model of His Kingdom as we love and forgive one another, care for one another and carry one another's burdens.

As a church we want to be:

Excited about God

Passionate about our love of God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit and wholehearted in our worship of Him.

Matthew 22 v 37 Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

Growing in our relationship with Jesus

In our knowledge of Him, our friendship with Him, in obedience to Him and in becoming more like Him in every area of our lives.

2 Peter 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Equipped for service

To fulfill our God-given role in the life of the Church, through training, encouraging and developing our gifts from the Lord.

Ephesians 4 v 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built u

Committed to each other

To worship together, encourage, support and care for each other, in an open and honest way.

Hebrews 10 v 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Reaching out to Wexford town, county & beyond

To express God's love through living out and proclaiming the gospel and seeking to meet the needs of people.

Acts 1 v 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

As a fellowship we value:

  • Gospel centred teaching

  • Prayer & Authentic, Open Worship

  • Biblical Community - caring for one another and fellowship with other believers

  • Evangelism – explaining and living out the gospel

  • Children

  • Focusing on people’s relationship with God

  • Participation from everyone in the congregation

  • Meeting physical needs in the wider community

If you visit us on a Sunday morning you can expect to find an open worship service as we value participation from all who attend. Together we will be exploring what the teachings of Jesus mean for our daily lives in 21st century Wexford. You can also expect teaching and activities which cater for the children who come along.

Beyond our immediate focus of Wexford town and its surrounding villages we seek to network with other evangelical churches nationally and internationally. To this end we are a member church of the Evangelical Alliance of Ireland and various members have on-going involvement with Child Evangelism Fellowship Ireland, the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students Ireland, and Fields of Life.

We also seek to actively support and encourage the work of our daughter church Calvary Church Gorey and Gail & Godwin Ekanem in their work in Nigeria with Mission Africa.
